Care & Harvest

🌱 Germination: Germination and true leaf growth can be slow. If your yCube has sprouted but true leaves have not formed, or if it has sprouted but roots are not visible after 14 days since you first saw it sprout, add the yCube to your Gardyn with plant food in it to help kick start its next phase of growth!
⭕ Support: While these beautiful flowers will naturally cascade down your Gardyn, we suggest using our Plant Belt to support the plant in upwards growth if desired.
✂️ Pruning: Check the roots monthly and trim any that are brown or extending past the yPod. Remove leaves with brown spots if they appear. To encourage new flower bud development, remove dead flower heads, called deadheading. When deadheading, also trim back the bare stem that remains on the plant to put energy into new buds.
🔎 Plant Health: Spider mites are a common pest, but you can use our prevention tricks to keep them at bay!
🌻 Harvest: To enjoy as a cut flower, cut stems when 2-3 lower buds on a stem are open, and place in water immediately so that the new blooms open slowly. To display your flowers’ beauty cut-free anywhere, use the Gardyn Vase!
Quick Facts
Campanula originated from Europe and is commonly called Bellflower. Both its common and botanical names refer to its flowers’ shape, which resembles small bells. Campanula is a symbol of unwavering love and gratitude.
This variety of Campanula grows 2.5-3-feet tall with purple bell-shaped blooms. Campanula has a soft, sweet scent with sturdy petals that hold up well in bouquets. The flowers and leaves are also edible, though most people prefer its aesthetic to its taste!
Campanula make wonderful cut flowers as they are particularly long-lasting. Also edible, you might try individual flower heads frozen in ice cubes or as a sophisticated garnish.
