Conference 2012

The HSA is planning its 2012 Annual Conference at this time. This is an open call for volunteers who would like to participate behind the scenes and be a part of our event. The conference will be held in the bay area in California this Summer. There are a number of positions for the event that we would like to fill in the next few months. Please contact the office directly with any questions on the conference or volunteering.

HSA Updates

The HSA’s Historical Archive Preservation Project has been launched to insure that the cumulative knowledge is here for future generations. Many of the old files are in old technology formats like VHS, original Apple computers, cassettes and slides.

The digitization of the archives has already begun thanks to donations and the work of our webmaster Lisa Rein. Proceedings from the HSA’s conferences have already been scanned and are available in a PDF format for the very first time. If you’re interested in volunteering for the organization or for the Archive Preservation Project, contact the HSA office directly. You can also donate to this project in the “Donate” section of the site.

We are also forming the 2012 Conference Committee. If you are an event planner or just want to participate, feel free to call. This Committee will plan and prepare for our 2012 Conference taking place in Oakland, CA. The dates of the conference are to be announced soon.

Keep checking back for more updates. Thanks.

Welcome to the Hydroponic Society of America

The Hydroponic Society of America is the scientific and educational arm of the hydroponic community. The H.S.A. is rooted in science and physics, plant physiology and photo-biology and the other 16 disciplines required to understand the complexity of the science known as hydroponics.

Here at the H.S.A., there is no room for opinion, and hydroponics doesn’t mean “whatever.” The H.S.A. separates the fiction from the fact, and the truth from the mythology. We welcome those who pursue truth, science, common sense, and those who love to grow plants.
