Welcome

The Hydroponic Society of America is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 1976 in Berkeley, CA. Our extensive experience is in the disciplines of lighting, engineering, controlled environment agriculture, hydroponics, and more. The HSA has a rich history of being involved with leading industry scientists and groups like NASA, the FFA, 4H and a number other national and international organizations.

The Hydroponic Society of America currently works with some of the leading plant scientists and controlled environment application engineers in the industry. The HSA is also currently the lead educational consultant on a large indoor vertical farm project happening in California.

The H.S.A. advises and consults globally to help create systems which are not only able to provide consistent biomass but also produce that biomass with zero to little waste. These farm facilities can produce flowers, vegetables and almost any food crops. Crops can be grown locally, reducing the number of food miles, helping promote greater food security and put local people to work around the USA.

The H.S.A. also educates on controlled environment efficiency, sustainable technologies, food waste conversion and teaches on new food production industry “Green-collar” jobs for cities and communities around the World.hsa-logo
